Homemade Soap Recipes Kids Can Make

What better way to make kids enjoy playing with soap than to let them make these homemade soap recipes themselves. Kids have always loved to play with soap and blow the bubbles off. Surely, they will also enjoy making these simple and easy to make soap recipes. 

Ingredients:                               Equipments:

1 cup palm oil soap base                   Cheese grater

¼ cup hot water                            Microwavable bowl

1 tbsp oatmeal (finely ground)             Microwave oven

1 tsp olive oil                            Tetra pack container (milk/juice)

1-2 drops essential oil                    Cookie cutters

1 drop food color
Procedure:
1.      Grate the palm oil soap base using a cheese grater. 
2.      Place the soap flakes in a microwavable bowl and slowly add the ¼ cup of hot water. Stir until the mixture becomes a smooth paste.
3.      Heat the mixture in a microwave oven for 30 seconds. Take out and stir. If the mixture is not yet of a smooth consistency, repeat the heating process. If the mixture is smooth, set aside and let the mixture cool down.
4.      When the mixture is cool, add 1 tablespoon of finely ground oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 1 to 2 drops of essential oil and 1 drop of food color. Mix well.
5.      Place the mixture in a container and set aside overnight or longer to dry.
6.      When the soap is completely dry, cut into slices depending on the thickness you want or use cookie cutters in shapes kids will love.
7.      Set aside overnight to dry.

Glycerin soap base (clear or white)          Microwave safe bowl

Soap dye or food color                       Microwave oven

Fragrance oil                                Stainless steel spoon

Popsicle molds                               Knife 

Popsicle sticks

Procedure:

1.      Cut the glycerin soap base (if in bar form) into 3 pieces.
2.      Place the pieces of glycerin soap base in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the soap base for 20 seconds and continue melting every 10 seconds until the soap base is fully melted.
3.      Add the soap dye or food color, stir with a spoon. Continue adding soap dye until the desired color is reached. If you want to make a variety of colors, separate the mixture into smaller portions and color as you want.
4.      Pour the soap mixture into the popsicle molds.   Set aside to cool a little.
5.      When the mixture in the popsicle molds have slightly cooled, insert the popsicle sticks halfway down.
6.      Set aside to harden or put inside the freezer for about an hour.
7.      When the soap has hardened, pop it out of the mold. Set aside until the soap is at room temperature.
8.      Wrap your soap popsicles but be sure to label them as non-edible or not fit for eating.
